SOLVING BUSINESS PROBLEMS WITH TECHNOLOGY

Philip’s Bio

I have operated my IT business since 2009 and I provide a comprehensive generalist technology and communications support service to a select clientele in a wide range of industries.

The knowledge, experience, qualifications and achievements I have amassed in my life and career are varied and include banking and financial services, sales, audio engineering, hospitality, catering, event management, professional cookery, teaching, many aspects of Information Technology and Communications, as well as becoming the primary carer for my Autism Spectrum Disorder son.

I started in banking as a teen, then became a commissioned agent in the super and insurance industry in my 20s, where I received sales training from old masters. Due to legislative changes I then left that industry to demonstrate and sell Weber barbecues for 5 years in retail and trade show settings. This led me to 20 years of cookery whereby I cooked at the highest level for an award winning restaurant and catering operation in North Queensland.

My son was diagnosed ASD (Autism) so I studied and retrained in IT in 2007/8 to gain flexibility with the intention of starting my own business. I built this into a solid part time income whilst home schooling and caring for my son. Cairns Tafe invited me to apply for a vacant position in the IT department in 2011 so I gained training qualifications and became an IT teacher for 3 years before being laid off due to a change of government.

Since then I have balanced my son’s care and the complexities of dealing with a myriad of health and government services and agencies whilst also servicing my clients in SA and Cairns.

My son and I relocated to SA in 2017.
